Khidmat Masyarakat di Hospital Serian sempena Perayaan Hari Krismas 2008 dan Tahun Baru 2009

Venue: Serian Hospital (Physiotherapy Ward, Female Ward, Children Ward, Male
Ward, Maternity Ward & Haemodialysis Centre) & Serian St. Joseph Convent.

Organizer: MRC Serian Chapter & MRC SMK Serian & Serian Lions’ Club

Officers in charge: Ms. Phang Nyuk Lan, Mdm. Lau Ben Leong, Mr. Simon Mpulop & Mr. Patrick Mawong.

Choir Members: 43 VAD & Youth members from SMK Serian

Gitf Sponsor By: Dumex, MRC Serian Chapter & Serian Lions’ Club.

Objectives:

1. To expose the members to more community service.
2. To improve their awareness of the importance to volunteer in any community service.
3. To give moral support to the patients.

Main Activities:

1. Caroling at the wards.
2. 100 Christmas gifts were given out to the wards’ patients, 100 small gifts to the out patients.

General comment :

This is one of our annual activities mainly for our youth members (secondary school students) and volunteers. The activity is also reminded our members the spirit of “to share” and the motto of the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement “To Serve”. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the members for doing the hard work as well as their parents for giving us moral support to make this activity a succeed.

Organizing activities for the youth members during the school break is not easy. It’s a long school break. Many members are away doing part time work to earn some pocket money. However, they are willing to sacrify a few days to do preparation for the activity and to participate this community service. We are very grateful to them. We are also very grateful to Dumex & Serian Lions’ Club for sponsoring the gifts.
